Born June 21, 2010 Mercedes' Ben is a healthy , handsome young boy. Although it is to early to tell, he appears to have very crimpy,Gray fiber. He also has nice substantial bone, & carries himself well.
Great News! In his first show, Ben placed 3rd in his class at MAPACA Jubilee, the largest alpaca show on the East Coast. This show features tough competition from the top farms up & down the East Coast, with over 1,000 alpacas competing. The judge was very complimentary of our boy, & we are ecstatic !!
Genetically he is the son of A.L. Paca's Vectra,a Reserve color champion Gray who is a full brother to 10 time champion A. L. Paca's Rose to the Occasion. Dark Shadow is their father.
His dam is a true black with beautiful ,shiny, SOFT fiber, our shearer commented that her luster made him think of Suri fiber. She is a daughter of Century, a third generation gray from a true black dam.On her dam's side, her Grandsire is Bolivian Black Thunder.
We feel this boy holds great potential!
