Proud new owners!
In my previous story I wrote of the difficulty in letting go of some of our alpacas and seeing them leave our farm. I have to admit I was feeling a little emotional at the time and while the story may have sounded a little downhearted, this not a sad time, but a new phase. When we raise wonderful, healthy animals to grow up and then move on to new homes where they are loved and valued, well, that is our goal and one we strive to do in the best manner possible!
The rewarding side of selling our alpacas is when you arrive with them at their new home and the new owners and their family are eagerly greeting you as you pull into their driveway. That excitement is truly contagious and we then come to realize that we are actually helping to fulfill someone's dreams of setting out into the world of alpacas. This feeling of accomplishment and joy is so rewarding, and it does certainly buffer any sense of loss we feel from parting with an alpaca.
Over the last ten years, we have helped many new people get started in the alpaca farming business, and Vickie and I are excited to forge new friendships that will last a lifetime. In addition, we feel that we have helped to strengthen the alpaca industry by broadening the base of ownership as well as introducing new people and ideas. We strive to continue our legacy of excellent alpacas and premiere customer service into the future as our farm business continues to grow.
