What's in a name?
Since today is Throwback Thursday, I thought I'd let everyone know how we arrived at the name of our farm.
Recently there have been several very nice articles written about our farm and our festival.
While these articles are wonderful and flattering and we are truly grateful for them, the one thing they all have in common is mistakes in the story of how we came about the name, Outstanding Dreams Farm.
So here you go, it's pretty simple really!
When we bought our farm in 2007, we adopted the previous owners' horse named Dreams. Dreams is a former Standardbred racehorse and was 19 years old at the time. She's now 31 and still doing well for an old girl!
The first alpaca we purchased is named Onyx's Outstanding Omen. She's pictured here with her first cria and the first cria born on our farm, Anticipation Annie. Outstanding is now 15 years old and also is doing well for an old girl!
It has been a long time dream of mine to own a farm so Vickie came up with the idea to combine the names of our first two animals along with the theme of fulfilling a long time dream and Outstanding Dreams Farm came into being!
There you have it, the story straight from the horse's mouth!
