McCoy
I'm often asked, "What is your favorite part of raising alpacas?"
My answer is always the same and comes without giving a second thought, "When the crias are born!"
We're now on our 10th birthing season and I can still say "This never gets old!"
The excitement and thrill are still there as each new cria enters the world. It's amazing to watch as the newborns find their legs, start nursing and walking around literally minutes after birth. You wonder, "How can this be?"
Seeing these beautiful creations of God just reinforces why we raise alpacas. It brings joy to our hearts and makes all the hard work worthwhile.
We have been blessed with a gorgeous , healthy black female cria, sired by Blueridge Peruvian McCoy, out of ODF Grace's Lucky Charm.
This is McCoy's first cria and he has fulfilled our expectations of what he would produce for us.
Lucky Charm is an incredible mom, so patient and attentive! She makes you glow as you watch her gently nudge the cria back to her udder to nurse.
We really couldn't have asked for anything more and truly feel blessed!
