Fairwell to Annie

The truth about raising livestock is that they will eventually break your heart.
Today was the day we said goodbye to Anticipation Annie.
Annie was the first cria born on our farm and as such, held a special place in our hearts.
She was such a special girl, from her beautiful markings to her personality, Annie stood out in the crowd.
Many little kids mistook her for a cow with her black and white pattern resembling a Holstein.
She was the boss of the girls pasture and all newcomers had to endure her indoctrinating them into the herd.
"This is my farm and I may let you live here, but know that I'm in charge!"
I'm often asked "How long do alpacas live?" I think from now on my answer will be "Not long enough."
Things just won't be the same around here without our Annie, but I know that she lived a good life here and was well cared for.
Run free again Annie, we will never forget you.
