Thank You
Two little words with such big meaning.
Recently, we had a wonderful visit from a very nice family. The grandparents are local, while the daughter and granddaughter were visiting from England.
The little girl, age nine, loved meeting our alpacas and had loads of great questions. Lucky Charm and her daughter Lucky Lady played their roles as our alpaca ambassadors while we discussed all things alpaca. She was such a sweet and kind child as was the entire family. Our alpacas sense and respond positively to visitors like this and never strayed far.
As the visit was coming to a close, the little girl and her granddad went to the car and came back holding a little box. I was wondering what on Earth could this be? She came up to me and handed me one of the nicest Thank You gifts I've ever received, a box of shortbread cookies made in her hometown in England. I have to tell you all, my heart melted!
What a kind and thoughtful gesture. Little things like this mean the world to me and remind me of why I love opening our farm to and spending time with visitors from near and far!
This is just one example of many of the wonderful, thoughtful people we get to meet as a result of hosting visitors at our farm.
So, as I went to the mailbox at the end of our lane to fetch today's mail I received a Thank You note from this dear, sweet child with an Air Mail stamp on it from England and was reminded of her visit.
Inside was a hand written note thanking us for our time and asking us to please be sure to say Hello to Lucky Charm and Lucky Lady.
We have a shoebox where we keep all of these Thank You cards and will read through them from time to time. This one will surely be one we treasure !
